Update Time

Sitting down and getting a chance to update things a bit finally. Reorganized the collections and bit and cleaned up some old material that didn’t need to be there. All the things that I should be doing regularly, but tend to avoid whenever I can. Decided this was a good weekend to be a touch responsible and get all the changes uploaded finally.

OTR For 08 Is Done

Finished another On The Road project. Seemed even longer than the last few years. Actually was in fact. Good sixteen hour work days, a touch of heat stroke, and more fun than an empty barrel of monkeys. Slapped up a couple of good pics I managed to get while we were out, so please enjoy.

Summer Of Rain

If it wasn’t bad enough that I have to go deal with buying a house (yeah, lots of fun with that one), now this summer has turned into little more than a rain festival. Not much for the site at the moment, just tweaking a few things.

Arriving In Picher

Spent the day up in Picher, Oklahoma. Hand to go along to help keep the equipment running so they could cover the story. Picher was unfortunately the target of a rather large and destructive tornado that took out a large portion of the town. I was lucky enough to be able to document some of the aftermath and witness the survivors beginning to return. Despite all they have been through, the people of Picher have been amazing in working together to recover personal items and work towards the future. I have added a small collection of the photos I took to share what I witnessed while there.

Sometimes buying new toys for the camera really pay off. That’s the beauty of really expensive lenses. They are sooooo much fun to play with.

Winter Fun

So, after a long break, I’ve finally gotten around to going over all the photos I’ve taken in the past couple of months. Some winter ice fun, a trip to Phoenix for work, and the general running around town, all add up to a decent handful of photos. No real special events going on at the moment though, so there hasn’t been anything truly special to grab my eye. Need to take a trip to some place scenic I think. Get those creative juices going and really get myself wrapped up in the art of cameras again.

Beat The Weekend

Just managing to get a last couple updates in before the weekend. Have some new gear coming in this week and am taking a trip to view some places that are still recovering from the flooding in north east Oklahoma earlier this year. Might present a good chance to test out the new lens...

Catching Up

Lot of photos to catch up on. About two months of shots that I’ve been trying to organize for the past few days. Most are just random shots around Tulsa, so nothing really spectacular. However, I did manage to sneak in a little time playing with a new macro lens and some of those are quite fun, so I went ahead and posted them. Also finished up a few more in the near-ir collection. Came up with a new processing method for these that really brings out the nature of the technique better and I’m quite pleased with the results. See if I can’t get a few more items ready before the weekend is up.

Well, the Blue, Bikes, and BBQ rally wasn’t nearly as good this year. They changed up a lot of how they organized the event and moved around several of the main attractions. All thanks to the complaints of a couple of business developers who are too narrow minded and stupid to appreciate all that the rally has to offer. I’m hopeful that next year, the city leaders will just ignore these people and put the rally back the way it needs to be. There were still a lot of great people out and some wonderful bikes, so I did manage to get in some good shots and enjoy a bit of food and fun.

State Fair Fun

Crazy live events all week at the Tulsa State Fair. Means I get to spend most of every day out there keeping an eye on the gear and making sure everything is working correctly. Up side is that I’ve been able to meet some nice critters, like this guy Cheetah. He’s actually an African Wild Cat, but the owners thought Cheetah was a good name for him. There’s a picture of him eating a microphone in the collections that’s pretty funny.
